I Am So Glad I Moved

If you would have told me that I would be looking at luxury apartments in Washington DC even a few years ago, I would have laughed and told you to quit making jokes. I was content as a stay at home mom taking care of my last boy before he went off to graduate school. Once he left, life took on a very new meaning to me. I was bored, and I decided to fix that. I had always loved visiting DC, and three of my four children live close to there.

I figured it would be the perfect place to move to, and hopefully that would entice my youngest son to move there too once he was done with school. I picked DC for other reasons too, because I did not want to be the kind of woman who interjected herself into every facet of their grandkids and children’s lives. I know they are busy, and I also knew that DC would keep me busy as well. I am lucky that I do not have to work because my late husband made sure I would be taken care of for life, so I was able to look at any of the apartments that I wanted.

I didn’t look at many because as soon as I saw the Westbrooke Place apartments, I knew that I had found my home. I did get a two bedroom apartment because I still wanted my youngest son to have a room with me for when he was not in school. The unit I got has two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a very nice living room with a large fire place in the corner, a laundry room, and a kitchen with plenty of cupboard space. Living here means I can do what I really want to do, which is volunteer my time to help others who are in need. I am so glad I made this move!
